An attractive late VictorianJewellery made in the the Victorian era (1839-1901). brooch that was made circa 1880. It has a raised design of ivy leaves and the word “Souvenir”. On the reverse is a locket section which can be used to contain a photograph or a lock of hair etc. It is silverA metallic element which is malleable and ductile, and white in colour, making it ideal for use in jewellery. It is usually mixed with copper to improve its hardness.
with a gold wash, this is called “silver gilt”.
