Victorian Onyx & 14ct Gold Signet Ring

A really good gold signet ringA ring with a central plaque on which one’s initials, a seal, or a crest is engraved. which is 14ct58.5% pure gold (or 585 parts pure gold to 415 parts other metals) gold and set with an onyxOnyx is an opaque black variety of polycrystalline chalcedony quartz.  which has been engraved with a coat of arms. It was made circa 1880 and is probably of Austrian or German origin.
