An interesting 9ct37.5% pure gold (or 375 parts pure gold and 625 parts other metals) gold back and front locket that was made circa 1880. 9ct back and front means that both sides are 9ct gold but the hinges and inner parts are metal. It has been engraved on both sides with roses that represent Love. The centre oval part hinges open to reveal two glazed compartments for photographs.
