They are not large and are unusual in that they are a concave design set with one natural pearlA pearl-bearing mollusc that has not been tampered with by man to produce a cultivated pearl will produce a ‘natural pearl’. in each one. They are testedA metal that has been acid tested to ascertain that it is gold, platinum or silver and, if such, further tested to give a near accurate assessment of gold content or silver content. This is necessary because the majority of antique jewellery is not hallmarked. to 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. gold and are all original, made circa 1890.
