Victorian 9ct Gold Back & Front Three Part Heart Shaped Locket

An unusual heart shaped locket that opens to reveal three sections so you can put four photographs within. Both sides have been engraved with scrolls and flowers with a cartouche on both sides so that you can have initials engraved if wanted. It is 9ct37.5% pure gold (or 375 parts pure gold and 625 parts other metals) back and front which means that the sides and hinges and inner parts are metal but the back and front plates are 9ct gold. It was made circa 1860 and still has the original facetedA faceted stone has small, flat-cut surfaces that make a sparkling effect on transparent stones. Facets act as both mirrors and windows.
