A smart rectangular 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold locket that opens in two places to reveal a central compartment in which two photographs can be placed. The Victorians normally covered pieces of jewellery with decoration, so this is an unusual piece and was made circa 1880. It is a good gage and looks very chic when worn.
