An unusual 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold locket that was made circa 1880. It is typical of the VictorianJewellery made in the the Victorian era (1839-1901). era with much attention to detail to the engraving all over it with raised parts and shields. Inside are four compartments for photographs with domed design at the top. There is a hinge that closes the locket. It is a beautiful, useful and very wearable piece of jewellery.
