A rare pair of 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold and enamelA pigmented glass-like material used in powdered form and fused onto the metal surface of a piece of jewellery. cufflinks that are a good example of what was produced by the firm Benzie based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. They were made circa 1880. Benzies was founded in 1862 by Mr Simpson Benzie. The firm made all sorts of good quality jewellery including tie pins and brooches that were nautical related. The red flag was the flag for the Royal Victoria yacht club.
