A beautifulĀ 18ct gold double snake ring that was made in Birmingham in 1889.Ā It is well modelled unlike some snake rings that we come across. In each of the snakeās heads is a ruby and a diamond and the eyes are little gold bobbles. Ā Ā The snake motif inĀ antique jewellery represented āEternal love and wisdomā, so pieces such as this ring would have been a gift from an admirer or would have been given as an engagement ring.Ā It is as appropriate today to give to a loved one as it was in the 1890s.
