A striking 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold oval locket that was made in 1863 judging by the inscription inside that details the life dates of George Ross. There is also a photograph of him inside. The outside has been enamelled in black with floral motifs. It is beautifully made and a good flat look.
