This is a well presented, great looking Russian malachiteA dark green stone with bands of various shades of green. It is hydrated copper carbonate. and 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. gold earrings and brooch in the original case. The malachite has an almost creamy look, which is typical of the Russian malachite. It was retailed in St Petersburg before the Revolution, circa 1890.
