Mikhail Perkhin became the leading work-master in the House of Fabergé in 1886 until his death in St. Petersburg in 1903. The jewels that he made were markedA small hallmark or punchmark either on the inside or outside of the shank which indicates the metal is platinum, gold or silver. If the metal is gold, it could also indicate the carat, e.g. 18 carat gold. with his initials MP in cyrillic. All the important commissions of the time, including some of the Imperial Easter Eggs were made in his workshop.
