An unusual late Regency ring that was made circa 1830. It is 15ct62.5% pure gold (or 625 parts pure gold and 375 parts other metals). Popular during the Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras but was discontinued in the mid-1930s. gold and has been set with three round carved banded onyxOnyx is an opaque black variety of polycrystalline chalcedony quartz. with flower detail. In between are two garnets that give contrast to the onyx in a Gothic way. The sides have lovely scroll detail that is typical of the period.
