Onyx & Silver Gilt Bead Necklace

The combination of banded onyxOnyx is an opaque black variety of polycrystalline chalcedony quartz.  and silverA metallic element which is malleable and ductile, and white in colour, making it ideal for use in jewellery. It is usually mixed with copper to improve its hardness.
gilt Etruscan work beads, make this an unusual and striking piece. It was made in the late VictorianJewellery made in the the Victorian era (1839-1901). period, circa 1880.
