Late 19th Century French Import 18ct Gold Ruby & Diamond Cross

An unusual and impressive 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold cross that was made circa 1880 and was imported in to France. In the centre is a facetedA faceted stone has small, flat-cut surfaces that make a sparkling effect on transparent stones. Facets act as both mirrors and windows.
