Edwardian 18ct Gold Signet Ring Set With Lapis Lazuli

An impressive 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold ring that was made circa 1910-1920.  It has been set with a rectangular plaque of lapis lazuliAn historically popular deep blue opaque gemstone. Lapis Lazuli is chiefly composed of the mineral Lazurite and is often flecked with gold Pyrite, giving each stone a unique mysticism. with canted corners. The shouldersThe point on a ring where the central section meets the shank or band, often carved, decorated or inlaid with small diamond accent stones. are a riot of leaves and scrolls that continue around the sides. The shankThe circle of metal that attaches to the decorative part of a ring and encircles the finger. is a reeded design.  It has been beautifully finished with a frosted coat on the gold.  It is hard to say exactly where it was made. It could possibly be of German or Dutch origin
