A strikingly beautiful round locket that was most likely made in Germany or Austria circa 1910-1920. It has been set with a sapphireBlue is the best-known colour for this gemstone but it can be found in all colours of the spectrum. After diamond, sapphire is the hardest gemstone.

It is not only a symbol of honour and endurance, but also of peace, nobility and harmony. The reverse has a stylised monogram JRP. It opens to reveal two compartments for photographs
