An unusual 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold signet ringA ring with a central plaque on which one’s initials, a seal, or a crest is engraved. that was most likely made in Belgium and imported in to France circa 1900-1910. The shield shaped surround has two weeping hearts and two spades engraved inside. Weeping hearts were originally worn as amulets to protect against the evil eye and from witches stealing milk or harming newborn babies.  This ring is a tiny size so it would only fit a pinky finger. It can be sized up but not by very much.
