An original 18ct75% pure gold (or 750 parts pure gold and 250 parts other metals) gold posy ringA posy ring is a band of gold, with a short inscription on the outer or inner surface. They were traditionally used as a lover’s token, a wedding ring, in friendship, for loyalty or even as memorial rings. that was made circa 1700-1750. The name posy derives from the French word for poem which refers to the inscription on the inside of the ring in this case “God alone made us two one”. These rings were used as lover’s tokens, betrothal or wedding rings. They are rare and very collectable.
