An unusual platinumDerives from the Spanish word ‘platina’ meaning ‘little silver’. Acknowledged since the 1900s, platinum’s durability and natural brightness has been and still is today highly treasured A metallic element prized for its rarity, whiteness, high tensile strength and insusceptibility to corrosion, platinum first became widely used in jewellery in the late ninete… ring in the form of a stylised double buckle. We have seen many variations on the buckle design over the years and this lovely ring is yet another version. The two sides are joined by a curved line of graduated calibre sapphires within tramline settings. The sapphires are a beautiful petrol blue colour. On either side are graduated diamonds. It is a terrific look when worn.
